Money talk.

So we calculated out our budget for the coming year and are doing OK... at least we were until I thought about our retirement.

Basically, we had talked about it being a good idea to utilize the full matching contribution for retirement for work. I set that up yesterday and it was still going to be less then my salary increase for this year, but the good wife went into a downward spiral of worry.

This morning we were less then personable to each other because of it. I've got half a mind to say "screw the future" and drop the retirement back down just so the budget is easier to balance.

Ugh.

Twas the noon before Christmas...

And all through the lab, not a user was sturing, not even a ...

Well, surfice to say, it's pretty dead at work today. I'm going to leave early and catch the childeren's Christmas pagent with James and Kat. Then we can enjoy the night before Christmas. It will be the calm before the storm.

This year, we'll be driving down to my parent's house at like O'Dark 30 so that we can experiance the joy of Christmas morning at the Thomas household. There may be dinner too.

On the 26th Kat's parents will be visiting. Her sister too. I might try to smoke a turkey. Maybe.

Kat's got another cake this weekend too. Apparently "how about you don't do cakes while you're pregnent" is more of a suggestion then a request. Oh well.

Anyway, I'll write again after the holidays... if we all survive.
